• about UNO

  For the past seven months it has been non stop music for the boys of Uno. Recording every song as though it was to be their single, Uno has been pleasantly surprised with the sound of the new record “Here’s One For Seduction”. Every verse, every chord, every note, was played with such feeling and meaning. Uno has finally found their sound. A combination of pop with and little bit of rock, and some electronic beats to drink. You could call it selling out, but Uno calls it “growing up“.
  
  Recently Uno has added a few new members. Nick Gingras was brought in to play drums. His steady hands and lively presence was just what Uno needed as they went in to record their new record. After parting ways with their past guitarist Joe, Unorthodox has added Jason Smith. A long time producer of Unorthodox, Jason has recorded and dealt with the band since they first got together in 2004. It was only right to think of him for the new addition. With Jason’s knowledge that he has acquired from many opportunities with the Kansas City giant, the Supernauts, Uno was excited with his choice of being apart of something that he helped mold.
  
  February 2004 was the first of many practices of a band that was known as SBD at the time. Back then Uno didn’t really know that it would blow up into something this significant. Shortly after they had formed, SBD felt that they needed to find a drummer that better fit their style of music. Bryan Bailey simply talked to one of his friends at the time, Brandon Freemyer. Uno had only written two songs at the time, so Freemyer would only play what he knew as a drummer. After talking about it, Uno decided to go with the drummer. Little did they know this would be the starting line up of what was soon to be known as the band Unorthodox.
  
  In late 2004, after compiling and playing new songs at many shows, Unorthodox decided that it was time to record their first CD. With the help from some of their parents the boys had enough money to hire a producer. Unorthodox laid down ten tracks on their first CD and named it “Theory of Four”. Unorthodox went on to promote the record and play many more shows, getting better known and playing at bigger venues then they ever thought they would before.
  
  After settling back down, Unorthodox decided to get a little more serious. They got rid of their drummer and found a new one not to far away in the town of Springfield. After playing some shows with the new drummer, Huston Sieferd, the band decided it was time for a new album and they knew just where to turn. They got Jason Smith and recorded an additional five songs and named the CD A Bullet for your Thoughts.
  
  Uno has had their fair share of records and recordings, but nothing compares to who they are now. No longer just another local band, Unorthodox has moved swiftly to a new level. With new members and fresh ideas, Uno is stronger than ever. So with the support of their fans, Uno will keep up the hard work. Playing more shows and writing more songs, and giving their fans what they want.
